Why Midwifery?

“With Woman”

Being a midwife means serving and empowering a woman and her family to optimal health mentally, physically, and emotionally.  Pregnancy is not an entity in itself.  It invokes the psyche, environment, family, financial, and the overall health of the mother, baby, and family.

Midwifery as practiced by certified nurse-midwives (CNMs®) and certified midwives (CMs®) encompasses a full range of primary health care services for women from adolescence beyond menopause. These services include primary care, gynecological and family planning services, preconception care, care during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, care of the normal newborn during the first 28 days of life, and treatment of male partners for sexually transmitted infections.

My goal is to create a family prenatal, birthing, and postnatal experience your way.
